Jay serves as the East Coast President of Suffolk’s Southeast Region which maintains office locations in West Palm Beach and Miami, Florida. Jay’s 43 years of expertise in construction operations, coupled with strong corporate and strategic leadership experience allow him to provide valuable direction in all facets of the industry for the region. Jay oversees all phases of project life cycle from relationship building, project pursuits, preconstruction, and construction to ensure that our team delivers on all project goals. He is responsible for operational efficiency, strategy, and the successful execution of Suffolk’s business plan.
Jay’s construction career began in 1979 when he started working as a laborer for Pizzagalli Construction (PC Construction), at this time Jay was also attending Vermont Technical College. In January of 1994, Jay began working at Suffolk Construction. He was with Suffolk from 1994-1999, Jay was an integral part of leading and growing the original Palm Beach County office. In 1999 he returned to PC Construction, where he later became President and CEO. During this time, Jay led a 2-billion-dollar work program from Maine to Florida. In 2022, under Jay’s leadership, PC Construction was named ENR Southeast Contractor of the Year. After spending a total of 27 years with PC Construction, four of those as President and CEO, Jay returned to Suffolk’s Southeast Region in late 2022 as Florida’s East Coast President.
Jay is on the board of directors of O’Brien Brothers, Spectrum Family and Youth Services, and Kidsafe Collaborative. Jay attended Vermont Technical College and was inducted into the Vermont State College’s Hall of Fame and received their distinguished Alumni Award in 2017. Jay now calls West Palm Beach his home with his wife Susan and their blended family of five.
