O’Brien Brothers was founded in 1958 by brothers Daniel J. O’Brien and Leo O’Brien. Starting as a farming and livestock business, the brothers soon realized there was an increasing need for housing in Vermont and moved the business into real estate brokerage and development. Since its founding, the company has grown and moved into new realms of real estate development in Vermont always ensuring it can answer yes to the question posed by Dan O’Brien, “Will you be proud of it in 20 years? Would you live near it? Would you own it with pride when someone asks who created it?”
O’Brien Brothers was among five family businesses honored. Also receiving an award were Rhino Foods, Bergman Real Estate Group, The Alchemist and the Trapp Family Lodge. O’Brien Brothers is immensely grateful to have been honored by the Grossman School of Business alongside these other fantastic family businesses.
